Professional Learning – Background Information / Documents
Professional Development Plan
- Professional development at the district aligns with yearly licensing requirements along with needs that have been addressed through strategic priorities. Student engagement and positive learning culture was addressed by staff attending Kagan Learning Structures PD opportunities over the past 3 years. At the elementary level, a CDE consultant and a staff literacy coach provide reading support to teachers whilst engaging in READ literacy training and in person training on LETRS, a Science of Reading program. Training was also provided for the implementation of Eureka Math Squared, additional training in planned for the fall. Many teachers in district also participated in a full day Capturing Kids Hearts training to become better emotional class leaders. They will have two additional days of support from the program later this school year.
Learning Communities
- Although we prioritize allotting time for teacher collaboration (coach planning time, common plans, etc.), we do not have set PLCs at this time.
Professional Growth Plans
- The district educator evaluation system is RANDA. This supports teachers in writing goals and assessing them throughout the year, while providing a place to house evidence and observations about teacher growth.
